Accomodations St Charles, MO

Meeting my Sister and her husband in St. Charles for a few days in May. Looking for nice accomodations but not B&B. Any ideas on what to do in St Charles/St Louis. Thanks

I don't know of hotels as we stayed in St Louis but I loved shopping along the main street in St Charles. It is so quaint. We had lunch in an upstairs open porch restaurant where we had a view of the river. Sorry, don't remember the name but you will see it. Also we enjoyed the Lewis and Clark museum. There are tours that leave from the main street, I beleive in front of the Chamber, it was informative and a great way to rest the feet!
If you have time and a car, Grants Farm is wonderful!

There are also casino's in St. Charles. St. Charles is a historical little town north of St. Louis. Not much for big named hotels...Comfort Suites..Residence Inn..that type of thing. There is a Lewis and Clark Exhibit there..not been myself so can't explain much about it. I would attempt to try and go up the Arch while in St. Louis. If you like baseball, see if the Cards are in town and take in a game (sit on the first base side to avoid afternoon sun).

St. Charles County covers a lot of area. Are you talking about St. Charles city area or way out by Wentzville or Winghaven?

I don't think it will be open for a while, but there's a brand new Embassy Suites being built by First Capital and I-70.

Right across the Missouri river is the Riverport area of St. Louis County. Harrahs Casino recently expanded their hotel there. Also on the north side of Riverport by Rams park are a few hotels. Courtyard and a few others of that type.

In St. Charles is a Comfort Suites that looks likes it's been remodeled. Further out my Mid-Rivers and St. Peters are a few Drury Inns and a Hampton Inn.

St. Charles is about 30+ minutes from downtown. If you want a good midway point: check the Westport area. Many hotels and motels.
