Wakeup, The entire stretch of Market Street from near Union Square and Embarcadero to 17th street in the Mission area is a cesspool of drug dealing, gang activity, and prostitution as well as adult theaters and sex shops. These are definitely NOT the places that tourists should be advised to stay. But what I cannot comprehend is why certain people on this board portray Union Square as such a safe place when in fact it is not.

Gee, I wonder why Four Seasons has one finest hotels in the US on Market Street. Must have been an oversight in planning on their part.

Vance, the Four Seasons probably figured that SF was going to clean up the area. Unfortunately they were wrong and it got worse.
