accomodations between zion and bryce
Driving back from torrey to las vegas(will have already visited zion and bryce). any place to stay between zion and bryce to break up the trip? or if go to zion, how many miles, how long to drive if assume minimal stops.
thanks |
I'd go straight to Zion. I think the two parks are around 90 miles apart, just over a 2 hour drive.

joanel,
I don't think there are many lodging accommodations between Bryce and Zion. I would recommend going back to Zion. The views in Zion or Springdale are fantastic. Will you be driving Hwy 12 after you leave Torrey? Utahtea |
yes, is there another way back? will have driven hwy 12 on the way out. need to get back eventually to Las vegas for plane

There are a couple of ways to get from Torrey to Las Vegas other than Hwy 12.
Take Hwy 24 north to hwy 119 and then take I-15 down to Las Vegas. This route is 350 miles and a pretty fast trip because most of it is interstate drivng. After you pass Cedar City you will drive right by the Kolob section of Zion National Park and it's worth an hour or two. Another route would be to take Hwy 24 north to Hwy 62 and take that south to Hwy 89. Take Hwy 89 south to Panguitch. In Panguitch take Hwy 143 past beautiful Panguitch Lake to Cedar Breaks National Monument, then Hwy 148 and Hwy 14 to Cedar City. Then take I-15 south to Las Vegas. If you want to spend the night on the road then Cedar City or St. George would be good places to stop. This route is 335 miles but will take longer to drive because you will spend more time on back roads and do a little mountain driving. Utahtea |
How many miles if go back on rt 12 and then past zion and st. george, etc. to las vegas?
Which way is shortest driving time? thanks |
