Accomodation question for Key West Experts....

Anyone ever hear of Courtneys Place on Whitemarish Ave? It is recommended in one of the guidebooks I picked up from the library. I am looking for a hotel or b&b in Old Town that is child-friendly. TIA.

Island City House Hotel gets nice reviews and is very family friendly.

Virtually all hotels in Key West are child-friendly. Some examples: the Hyatt, the Hilton, the Ocean Key Resort, the Casa Marina, the Reach, the Sheraton Suites...

I stayed at Eden House in winter 2001 - it's a bit of a hike to Duval Street but was a laid back place and very chilkd friendly. There were several familes there with young children (toddlers and elementary school age) - nice pool area w/outdoor communal jacuzzi and also a hammock area to relax and read. As a single traveler I have opted for places closer to the action on subsequent trips but for a family I think it would be a good choice.

Susan is right. Just about every hotel/motel is child friendly in Key West. There are many B&Bs that are as well but many do not allow children under the age of 12. The Island City House would be a great choice.

Not all b&B's are child friendly. Some say no children period.

Thanks for your responses. X can you be more specific on Courtneys Place? The guidebook says it is a nice place, owners are friendly and the location doesn't look bad. Has anyone stayed there or know of the place????

We were just in the keys about four days ago. Whitemarish Ave is an urban street that is quite run down. If I remember correctly we stopped at Courtneys Place and she told us we could stay there for about $149 a night. The inside was beautiful however, the neighborhood was not the best in Key West.

For your information, Key West was totally dead during Presidents week. Could not believe it. People are still afraid to travel, so we were told.

The are plenty of places to stay. Keep trying the nicer places and maybe you get lucky and someone will cancel. Every place is child friendly.

Have fun

I musta been in a different town - it was packed, couldnt find parking, lines for the good places at dinner and Malory Square was shoulder to shoulder.

I must explain myself. We were told by many natives that this was a quiet week for them. Spring break officially starts in Key West this coming week. I am used to the spring break anything goes week. There was a womens Arena Football team there for a couple of days and after that it was not as crowded.

Remember the weather was not the best weather either.
