Accommodations in Kohler
We are arriving the night before a 3 day stay at the American Club. There are no rooms available that night, so we need to find a nice place to stay nearby. Any suggestions?

Inn on Woodlake...just down the street from the American Club. We stayed there a few years ago and had a good experience.

I looked there, but the prices were pretty high for just a place to sleep for one night. Any other suggestions? thanks.

Kohler is pretty close to Sheboygan Falls, WI. (Map it to check distance, but I think Kohler is 15 min. drive east of SF.) The Rochester Inn is a very nice B&B in a lovely, small Wisconsin town. The inn has a website, so you can google for more info.

Now that I just posted...Sheboygan Falls is 1 mile west of Kohler. There are hotels in the city of Sheboygan (which is east of Kohler). I've also stayed at the 52 Stafford Inn in Plymouth, WI. That's about 15-20 minutes from Kohler. If you do a search of Sheboygan County lodging, you'll come across other hotels. Both Rochester Inn & 52 Stafford have consistently received good reviews by the Milwaukee press, for what that's worth. Enjoy your visit!

I would think if you could afford to stay at The American Club, you could afford to stay anywhere else! I don't know if there's anything as nice for your $$ in that area, though.

You're right, lynnejoel, but arriving late and leaving early really didn't warrant spending over $300 at the Inn on Woodlake. Thanks to everyone for the suggestions.

We've stayed at St. Brendan's Inn and County Claire, both owned by the same group as Plymouth Inn. They are both very nice places. More like a boutique hotel than a B&B.
The Blue Harbor Inn isn't $300 a night (I don't think). It's right on Lake Michigan in Sheboygan. So it's a very short drive to Kohler. Heck, you could stay in Cedarburg and have a half hour drive. There are several nice places to stay in Cedarburg. The Washington House Inn being the nicest. |
