Accomadation in Buffalo/Niagara region

Looking for recommended accomadation in the Buffalo/Niagara region from $60 - $120 per night. Room to be modern, clean, basic with bathroom. Is it better to stay in Buffalo or Niagara??

You didn't say where you were going to be in Buffalo but if you are travelling on I-90 (NYS Thruway) the Hampton Inn at I-90 and Walden East is a great deal complete with continental breakfast. You could not pay me to stay in Niagara Falls, NY but if I had to the Red Jacket just off I-190 would be the place. City is dingy and can be extremely unsafe. Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada is much better with numerous hotels and motels of all price ranges.

I'd stick to the Niagara side. More to do and see there.

Canada--the exchange rate makes staying there a real bargain.

Judy, where will you be spending your time...Buffalo or Niagara Falls?

WAs just at Niagara first week of April with 3 kids. Agree with everyone - get your hotel on the Ontario, Canada side. We stayed at Holiday Inn by the Lake (not affiliated with the chain), and the kids loved it. It was just a block away from the Falls (downhill). Price was reasonable in early April. You'll find though that most hotels have increased their prices by now. Have fun. We did. Visit both American side and Canadian side of the Falls for best experience.
