acadia/bar harbor ?

In Acadia is a carriage tour worthwhile for 2 teens or would they be bored? Does it take you somewhere the Loop road does not?
In Bar Harbor any suggestions on the puffin/whale boat trip vs just whale? Also the puffin/whale goes at 8:30 and 4:30. Which one would you recommend? Thanks so much

If the 2 teens are girls, and "horsey", they'd probably love it. The carriage roads are car-free, only horses, bikes and walkers, so, yes, you go places the loop road doesn't.

We were there last summer with 3 kids (9,11 and 15). One of the highlights was sea kayaking (lots of fun, went with a group and IMO easier than a canoe). Another favorite was pizza and a movie at Reel Pizza in Bar Harbor - great variety of pizza you eat while watching the movie in arm chairs using TV trays!!

We did not do the carriage ride, so can't comment on that.

We took the evening/sunset carriage ride with our two teenagers a few years ago. They still talk about that carriage ride. Well worth it. Spectacular scenery! The carriage rides are on roads on accessible by carriage or bike.

I would recommend the puffin/whale trip. Do the 8:30 one if possible. The seas will be less rough which makes it easier to spot the whales. We've done it lots of times and always had a great time. Bring plenty of warm clothes - you will be AMAZED at how cold it can get out on the water.
