About that BankAmerica Card for Museums....

Well, first of all, we don't own one. But a daughter does. Do we just need to carry it and show it? Anyone know the drill here?

If I had the time, I'd GET one as it has about 5 of the things that we are planning to go to - what a deal!

So I guess my question is: will ANY BAC do, or do we have to own it?

What is it you understand about it? I haven't heard anything that "matches" what you are asking.

You need a BofA debit card, credit card, or an MBNA credit card (some haven't yet been replaced with Bank of America Cards).

Since there's no admission, your daughter's card might get you in - if they don't ask for ID.

But, this promotion IS for Bank of America card holders.

Yes, it is my daughter's card, but I can give her a good review of it - to salve my conscience!

Like I said, I'd get one just for the perks, but we leave here in less than 2 weeks, and it would take longer than that.

Thanks, Alva, for looking up the info that I needed.

djkbooks, It would be embarrasing if they asked for ID (yikes).

Alya, thank you for the link!

Brahmama, yes, it says in the small print: photo ID must be presented. Limited to cardholder and one guest.

Call - I'd bet they can process your application and get a card to you in under two weeks.

Brahmama,

I should be thanking you - We're heading to the Museum of Fine Arts over the weekend, without your reminder I would have forgotten this offer

Ta Dum! I called them up and applied over the phone and they said they would expedite the mailing and I'd have it by Tuesday! We don't leave for 10 days so that will be plenty of time!

Alya, Do you know where there is a list of the museums who are accepting this for the admission charge?

Thank you - guys and gals for the encouragement and the advice!!!

I am not Alya, but I know the answer. Yes, there is a list of museums. Go to that link Alya posted, click on the map of your state, pick the city, and on the right side there is a list of museums. Printable.

Ooops. After browsing here for awhile, I just posted not to forget this deal this month, then suddenly I see this thread.
For what it's worth, we've taken advantage before, and I don't think anyone ever asked for an accompanying ID -- we just showed our ATM cards.

okay, would it be silly of me to buy a plane ticket to NY so I could use my bank card to get into museums for free?

I'm so tempted!

Toucan, I think like you do. Last time we were in New York in May, we decided since we could get into MOMA for free with our BofA cards, we'd splurge on lunch at the Bar Modern there. So -- $90 for lunch for two later. . . The good news is, it was a fantastic lunch.

It's sort of like driving to the gas station 10 miles away and using up $3.00 worth of gas to save 4 cents a gallon buying 14 gallons. Huh?

I think it stinks that other than Florida, there are no participating museums in the South.
