? about going through airport security

We're flying to Hawaii next week from NY and I'm bringing a b-day gift for a relative there. I was planning to wrap it before the trip but my husband said that when we go thru airport security, they will ask me to remove the wrapper. Anyone know if this is true?

It just depends on whether or not the xray is conclusive as to what it is. If it looks suspicious, they may have to unwrap it. Another solution is to put it in your checked bags.

Have you considered one of those gift bags?

NO wrapped boxes...period.<BR>Even if you're unsure, don't wrap the thing. I'm sure the people behind you at security will just LOVE you for holding up the line

Agree with x. All the airlines will tell you NOT to take a wrapped present. I like the gift bag idea too.
