Abiquiu Tours

Wanted to get feedback on the tour at Abiquiu. Its $30 for the hour tour. We're fans of Georgia O'Keefe and have been to the museum in Santa Fe as well as seen many other exhibits over the years and enjoy them. I understand there are no paintings in Abiquiu, but that the home is nice. Just wondering what folks who have done the tour think of it? Thanks

I thought it was awesome. If you are a Georgia O'Keeffe fan, you will love it. It is just as it was when she lived there. You get the feeling that she is going to appear around the corner at any minute.

As you may already know, you have to get tickets well in advance, you have to drive from Santa Fe to the designated location and then take a van, and tours take place only on certain days.

We enjoyed the tour very much and agree you need to book your tickets well in advance as they only take around 16 people if I remember correctly.

Thanks for the information. Fortunately they have space available during our stay in Santa Fe in Sept.

I am a Georgia Okeeffe fan, but not a fanatic. I never thought I would enjoy a house tour but we loved it so much we did it again the next time we were in the area. The keep the groups small so you have an intimate tour. Have fun on your trip, and please let us know how you like the tour.

Can someone tell me how long it takes to get from SF to Abiquiu?

Around an hour. If u go up that way, be sure to check out Ghost Ranch too.

Thanks, yt, that whole area looks gorgeous. Are there any restaurants or anything once you get up there? I was curious about the Ghost Ranch Landscape Tour - has anyone done it? If so, did you enjoy it?

The Abiquiu Inn has a restaurant, and there are a number of places to eat in Espanola.
