Aarchway or Holiday Inn in Moab

Can anyone recommend one of these hotels in Moab. We are a family of 4 and will spend 3 nights in Moab in August. Will need laundry facilities and a pool. Thanks!

We stayed at the Aarchway Inn and would recommend it - nice size rooms, clean and with a pool. (It was not big, but they did throw some beach balls and an inflatible raft in there - the kids liked those extras). I'm pretty sure they had laundry, but you should confirm that.

I think the Aarchway and Holiday Inn Express are right next store to each other.

We just stayed at the Best Western Canyonlands which is right down town - yes, laundry and pool. Know that the Aarchway is outside of town if you were planning to walk around at night.

The Aarchway is at the end of the town, but it's less than a 5 min. drive. This wasn't an issue in Moab for us like it could be in larger towns.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express just last week. It was like you would expect: was rather new, had a good breakfast included, small enclosed pool. Don't know about laundry. It was 108 in Moab for the two days we were there. Nothing like touring Arches NP in that heat. It made us think carefully about taking small hikes to the observation points in the park. Had to view Delicate Arch from afar--don't know how anyone could have hiked up to it to observe the sunset!

Anyway, the HI Express is right next to Aarchway Inn and they both look similar. Both have inside corridors which I like.

I know that most motels in the west have a breakfast included in their price but it you want a GOOD breakfast or early lunch, try the Jail House Cafe right in Moab. It closes at 12 noon. We hit it about 1130 for lunch.

Also in Moab we took the Canyonlands by Night boat ride (preceeded by a BBQ chuck wagon dinner) one night. It was different and a pleasant thing to do on a hot night (the Colorado River was cooler).

Stay cool.

Margo,
Thank you for your information. Which company did you book the boat tour with? Thanks
Kim

The boat company was called Canyonlands by Day and Night. It offered a number of different trips. It is located just over the bridge on the way to Arches NP, about 1/2 mile from the Holiday Inn. We went there and bought tickets in person but you can have the hotel order them, too. They also have a website.

Like I said, the boat trip at night was pleasant and included a "light show" where the red rock canyon was lit up while different stories were told.

My wife and I stayed for four nights at the Aarchway Inn last May. We would highly recommend the place. The outdoor pool is nice and the indoor jacuzzi is heaven after a long day of hikes.
We liked the fact it wasn't in the middle of town. It was nice and quiet.
Also recommend getting an ice cream at the Moab Diner. Great place with huge servings

We stayed at the Aarchway last summer and can highly recommend it. The room was very large and clean and my family really enjoyed the swimming pool (decent size.) Breakfast was pretty good, too.

For laundry purposes, there is only one washer and dryer which I had to wait quite a while to use. If we return, I will probably take my laundry into town and do it while we have dinner at a local laundrymat.

Hope this helps!

Oops! Should have previewed my reply. We won't have dinner at the laundrymat but at a restaurant, LOL!
