A Week in April in Burbank - Where to Stay and What to Do?
Visiting our daughter who will be staying in Burbank for her Spring semester. Need advice on where to stay and what to do! I expect we will go to both Universal and Warner Brothers Studios. What else should we plan on? And are there any activities I need to reserve ahead of time? Thank you so much for your suggestions!

There are no parking reservations for the Getty Center, Janis meant The Getty Villa out in Malibu.
I think you'd want to stay in downtown Burbank where all the restaurants are clustered. SpringHill Suites, Hilton Garden Inn, Residence Inn or Holiday Inn. Safari Inn, about a mile from downtown, is okay on a budget but avoid the Ramada, the Quality Inn, the Travelodge.
Will your daughter have time off or are you planning to stay just in Burbank and not visit the coast? Laguna Beach or Santa Barbara would be nice for an overnight.
For other activities/day trips consider Old Town Pasadena & The Huntington Gardens, The L.A. Zoo and Griffith Park - Griffith Observatory and The Autry Western Museum, California Science Center & the Natural History Museum, a Dodger game, LACMA & the La Brea Tar Pits & The Grove & Farmers Market, The Getty Center, The Petersen Auto Museum, Santa Monica Pier & Venice Beach, The Reagan Presidential Library, Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Phantom Returns at the Pantages Theatre.

Thank you so much!
I believe we will be renting a car, so appreciate the advice about parking reservations. Would not have thought of that!
I don't think my daughter will have time off for overnight trips - her program will include an internship. However, we will be bringing my other daughter with us so will definitely be visiting a number of the places you suggested.
