Nantucket IS dead in winter, unless you go for Christmas Stroll - I think it's the 1st weekend in Dec. this year. Concerts, shopping, restaurants, but it is very small, and alot is centered on shopping.

Go to Portland, ME, there's lot's to do, nice new accomodations and you'll have a blast. Good luck!!
