A Wedding In Charlston in May

I will be going to a wedding in Charleston in May with my husband. The wedding is being held at Charlston Place hotel. I have narrowed it down to staying at either Charlston Place or French Quarter Inn (similiar in pricing) and am trying to get a feel & difference betw. these 2 hotels. We are young, laid back, 40 yr old casual Manhattanites - only staying for 2 nights - no rental car. Thanks!

Charleston fills up quickly in May because of the Spoleto festival. I'm not family with the French Quarter Inn, but Charleston Place is centrally located and well maintained. It doesn't seem to have a soul though.

Either would be fine. Make a reservaton.

Charleston Place is much larger than the FQI and much busier.

Locations are almost on top of each other, you could throw a rock from either hotel and hit the other.

I think the CP is probably a little nicer.

In the same price range and same location, I like the Planters Inn and Market Pavillion much better with the MP being my fave. The rooftop pool would be a nice treat.

I went ahead & booked Charleston Place for 2 nights. As suggested - I didn't want to wait any longer! Thanks for the recs!

You are welcome!

In all honesty, the difference between the four hotels is tiny. All very nice!

Make sure you drop by the rooftop of the Market Pavillion for a cocktail and the rooftop of the Vendue Inn for lots of fun and live music!

Just wanted to say we had a wonderful trip to Charleston (and attended a fantastic wedding). Charleston Place hotel while expensive, was fantastic (this is where both the rehearsal dinner & wedding were). We had a great walk down King Street to the water & all the way back up East Bay St on Sunday. Weather was perfect. Market Street shops were fun if somewhat touristy of course! Thanks for all of the advice!
