a place for healing in New Mexico?
Hello. Body needs healing, soul needs a restful place. I am looking for advice for a nice destination in New Mexico (never been there), perhaps a spa. Looking for a spiritual place, inspiring and with a beautiful view of water. Perhaps with an awareness of health and healing. For two who are open minded. Not exceedingly luxurious and please not too rustic. No idea where to look. thank you.

Have you thought about Sedona area in Arizona instead? I can't think of anything in New Mexico w/the water. But in Sedona you have Oak Creek, and it is definitely a spiritual renewal type place for me. It is wide open as far as being open minded.

Um, New Mexico is in the desert so not too much water. A Thousand Waves is a famous spa just outside Santa Fe where friends recently stayed and liked. There's a brand new place in Taos called El Monte Sagrado that they visited and also liked.
I did a web search and found this place which has mineral springs. http://www.ojocalientespa.com/ I know nothing about it. Check carefully maybe on tripadvisor. There's a website spafinder.com that may help. |
Ojo Caliente is fabulous, but may be too rustic for you. Certainly not a luxury place, but very definitely has all the other qualities you are looking for. 10 Thousand Waves also terrific, but probably only for a few hours. El Monte Sagrado the most luxurious and newest of them all. Also check out Sunrise Springs just south of Santa Fe.
NM may not have an ocean, but we're loaded with beautiful spas and restful places. |
Thank you for the advice to all of you. I am now aware how stupid I was to mention water, but interested in all the good ideas.
thanks |
Santa Fe--10,000 waves

10,000 Waves has a website you can check out. It gets great reviews. (I believe it is clothing optional.)
If you have a budget issue, head on over to Ojo Caliente. |
