A night out in Philly?
 

Hi Friendly Fodors,

My boyfriend is coming to Philadelphia to visit from out of town. Any suggestions on where to take him for drinks or dancing Friday or Saturday night? I live in the Fishtown area.

It's been a long time since I was in Philly, but the Old City area always has lots of restaurants (with great bar areas) and dance clubs.

I used to enjoy Cuba Libre. They make good mojitos.

*IF* your BF enjoys hopping around from bar to night club, then
1) start at Market and 2nd (Blue Line stop there, so parking won't be an issue)
2) walk south on 2nd Street, away from Christ Church
3) when you get to South Street, turn right (west), away from the river
4) get a cab back to where you want to spend the night.

The Continental and Cuba Libre are as good a place as any to start a night of drinking.

Can't help with dancing -- it says something that I started listening to oldies stations 35 years ago!
