A Nice Place to Dine in Beverly Hills

Hi Everyone,

My husband and I are planning a two night stay in Beverly Hills and are looking for two nice Resturants for Dinner (Sunday and Monday). Any Suggestions

Thank You Theresa

Hmmm.... There are quite a few good restaurants in the BH/West Hollywood area. Chadwick, on Beverly Drive, gets good reviews. Spago, on Cañon Drive, is an obvious choice-- and it's actually a pretty good restaurant (the tasting menus are the best!). Patina, on Melrose in LA, is also world-famous. L'Orangérie on La Cienega in WH is great too. Chaya Brasserie on Alden Drive (WH), too. Madeo, on Beverly in WH, is a great Italian restaurant.

May I suggest a brand-new eatery that has received the rare four-star rating from the "LA Times" for your Monday dinner? Bastide, on Melrose Place in WH, is pure French (down to the wine), only open during the week, offers three prix fixe dinners, and is incredibly good.

The concierge at your hotel will have other possibilities, especially if you plan to stay in BH only (WH is next door to BH). These are just off the top of my head. But they're all good.

I too recommend Spago in Beverly Hills. The portions are large (compared to what we expected and heard from others). We both enjoyed our meals, I had pizza and my boyfriend had a huge piece of veal. If you care about star sighting at all, Spago is the place to go. We happened to see Tony Danza the day we were there for lunch. Just make sure to check you bank statement if you do not pay with cash. Our meal was something like $104 dollars (2 appetizers, 2 meals, 2 deserts) but we later found we had been charged $208 (and had it easily fixed). Also, only valet park if that is important to you because there is public parking about one block from Spago for only a few dollars.

Another vote for Bastide. Also, The Grill on the Alley in BH. All the other suggestions are good, too.
