Well, I should have also said we will be there in March 2012 as well! In case anyone wants a GTG then.
Only four days left before we head to Kona!!
Two days til Maui, weather showing lots of rain :(
Rain or not, SeeHag, you'll still look great in your bathing suit!
Now less than six weeks til we'll be in south Kona--counting the minutes (and it's going to snow here tomorrow)--can't wait!
No matter if it rains! It'll only rain a little at a time, and it will still be warm.
9 days until we leave for Kauai...Yeh....(Nov.5)
Leaving Sydney for Hawaii (Kona, Volcano, Turtle Bay,Waikiki) on Wednesday!! Never been before!! :)
Counting down seven months until our Kauai trip in June (though we haven't narrowed down the exact dates). So-o-o looking forward to seeing that beautiful island again after over a decade! It's hard to believe it has taken us so long to go back.
nice - so happy to read of all of you planning or enjoying Hawaii - it is one of my favorite places on this earth. I do not see it happening in 2012 so I will have to tag along in my dreams with you all :)
We're halfway through our stay in Kona. 9 more days to go. Oh, it will be hard to go back to the chilly, rainy San Francisco Bay Area!
We'll sleep in south Kona tomorrow night--Yeaaa!! Can't wait to leave snowy Denver for a week! Will go to Sam Choy's new restaurant and report back. Also plan to tour Hulihee Palace--in all out times there have never done that.

Love hearing about all your planned trips and getting anxious to again hear some great Hawaiian music and sip a cold one on the beach, and do some snorkeling/diving and maybe some deep sea fishing.
For the Travelers from Oz: We love all the islands - but you have made some great choices: Suggest you enjoy driving around the Big Island - and also maybe take a hike at the little crater near the big one by the Visitor's center. It's called Ke Iki Hale - and you walk through part of a rain forest to get there - and then down and across the mile or so of the floor of the crater and back up and out. It's a great experience and even though it hasn't "blown" since 1959 - and is very unlikely to do so - you still pick up your step a bit when you hear the steam hissing up from the Volcano. :) Also - Turtle Bay on the North Shore of Oahu is great - and having a shave ice in Haleiwa is a real treat. And don't miss snorkeling in Hanauma Bay - just to the South of Waikiki, probably the most beautiful and safest place to snorkel in the islands. http://www.hawaiiweb.com/html/hanauma_bay_beach.html |
Actually - the travelers from Sydney should be back by now?
martym,we liked Sam Choy's. Asian/Island style foods are good, but the ordinary mainland type stuff is not. But since I ordered stir fry, etc when we went, I was happy. Prices are not bad at all.
charnees thanks for the info. Heading to the airport--we'll be there by 12:30 Kona time!
OMGL I just love the poke at Sam Choy's. Incredible. Ono for sure.
