A FEWE NITES IN CAPE COD ?
 

Seasoned travelers. Can you help?

Family of four, 3 adults, one 13 year old, needs 2 rooms 6/19 + 06/20 at a nice place on the Cape.

Any suggestions regarding towns and hotels, inns. B & B's, whatever. Nice, clean, not too fru-fru or expensive.

Got any suggestions?

Then heading up the coast to Maine. I'm all ears.

The All Seasons Motor Inn, in South Yarmouth has been voted best mid-Cape motel by the readers of Cape Cod life magazine for the past 12 years.

They are centrally located, and very popular with families.

Last year we stayed at theNautilus Motor inn in Wood's Hole? Great place close to the ferry to Martha's Vineyard and a wonderful lighthouse. Paul

Chatham is a great place to stay for a Cape Cod experience; it's my favorite town on Cape. The Bradford Inn there would fit your requirements perfectly.

Hyannis is more central. The Simmons Homestead is very pretty and close to, but not in, the very busy downtown. It is also a short ride to Craigville Beach, a lovely beach in Centerville.

Lots of places to stop en route to Maine: Plimouth Plantation and the Mayflower, Boston, Gloucester/Salem, Portsmouth, NH, Ogunquit/Kennebunkport, Maine. The Black Point Inn in Scarborough outside Portland is a great place to stay.

Not quite high season in these areas in mid-June, so the rates shouldn't be horrific. And there is likely to be decent availability, as many schools will not yet be out (depending on snow days this winter). Biting flies will, however, be aggresive in more rural areas! (Green heads on Cape and black flies in Maine.)

June is such a wonderful time to go to the Cape - lot's happening but prices and tourists not at full swing yet. Are you able to give any kind of budget requirements as some towns are priced much higher than others. Also are you renting a car or flying in? You could work your way down the Cape with Provincetown being your last stop and then ferry over to Boston and then continue up the coast to Maine.

We are staying in Boston for three days, then going down to the Cape for two, then heading up the coast to Portland, then onto Belfast to visit friends.

I know it's a round about but that's the plan.

Looked into the All Seasons Motor Inn and the Nautilus Inn. Both looked about right. After the price of the hotel in Boston, we need to scale down a bit.
