A civilian gives GI's $200

What a wonderful, wonderful gift! A civilian from the Wichita Falls airport gave our grandson and 4 other GI's $200.00 to help with cab fare to Dallas when their plane was cancelled from WF, because of weather, and they had to get to Dallas for connections. Whoever you are, we thank you! What Christmas spirit! May you be blessed!
HOWEVER, boo to American Airlines who told these young men they would put them up in a hotel until their flight took off the next day. Our grandson spent the night in a chair in Dallas airport, there was no hotel. BUT, he's home now for the holidays!!

It is really wonderful what this civilian did because it was not just a gift of money. It was a gift of more time with the family that could not be got back.

As the mother of a servicemember who was able to come home for Christmas, this is a heartwarming story.

Thanks longhorn55. Our family has been blessed twice now with those who give. Three years ago a Fodorite paid half of another grandson's air fare so that he could be home for Christmas. Every year we remember her with fondness. Enjoy your son/daughter and we pray for all their safety.
