A Beautiful Day for Chicago's Bridges
I joined the Windy City Explorers today in Chicago for a tour of the River Walk and the top 10 drawbridges (according to the tour host, anyway!) It was a beautiful day to get outside and enjoy the city. The water looked so inviting I wanted to jump in!
Here are my pix - I believe I made them public; let me know if you have problems viewing them. https://www.flickr.com/photos/523691.../shares/7fx555 |

We're going to Chicago next month for the first time.
Thanks for the idea. |
Myer, the river walk has tons of places to sit and watch the activity on the water - restaurants, cafes, and just public places to relax. You can also rent kayaks, bikes, and pedicabs. I hope the weather is as good on your visit as it was for mine!
(And of course, any boat tour on the river is well worth it. They give you lots of interesting info about the history of the city and the architecture of the buildings. Many here recommend the Architecture Foundation boat tours, including myself.) |
The River Walk is wonderful but the lakefront walks are terrific too, 30 miles to choose from , all along Lake Michigan. They were both a major part of our life in Chicago.
