80-yr old in vegas first time

I'm bringing my 80-yr old Mother to Vegas in July. It's her first visit. I'm wondering if you have any suggestions on what she might enjoy.

Do you actually LIKE this woman?
Taking her to Vegas in JULY for the first time?

I'm mostly kidding.
You make no mention of her physical condition. If she's in good shape, no big deal. If she has limitations, your options will be much more restrictive. Getting around in the high heat of summer is a challenge for many people. Of course cabs can be used, but efficiency and cost become issues.

You make no mention of what she likes, how well travelled she is, etc.

Very difficult to make useful suggestions not knowing whether she's frail and has limited mobility versus very young of mind and vital.

I can think of more things that you should NOT do with an 80 year old in Las Vegas!
Do not take her walking in the heat, that would mean anywhere outside.
Do not expect her to be able to walk around the hotels, they are huge.
Would she like to play the slots?
Would she like to see a show?
Would she enjoy a fancy restaurant?
Is this a troll?
Are you going to inherit a lot of money?

My parents are mid-70s and although they are in good shape they do not tolerate heat well and my mom gets tired doing a lot of walking.

They love the slots though - I keep urging them to use the nickel slots and they seem to keep upping the ante to dollar slots!

I would limit sightseeing to nighttime excursions with only one place to visit (each night). That way she can gamble and eat during the day, nap in the afternoon, have dinner then go see something on the strip (like Bellagio fountains, the mirage volcano, and all the other normal stuff).

Also, if you stay in one of the mega hotels, you will have lots to walk around and see (and different places to eat/shop) all in the A/C comfort of the hotel casino.

Maybe Wayne Newton at the Stardust, perhaps Charo at the Aladdin, the Fitzgerald downtown has a good Elvis show (I think at 7&9) that's free, just walk in and sit down. The Liberace Museaum is better than you might think.

please make sure she realizes how VERY, VERY HOT it will be. unless you want to stay inside all the time (in the smoke filled casinos) it won't be much fun for walking. watch for that sun burn too.

I think she would like "O" or "Mystere"....both are equally good. There are lots of Free sights to see, Parade at Rio, Fountains at Bellagio, Volcano at Mirage....all are good at night when its not quite as hot...you can see the Pirate show at Treasure Island from inside if the show is still playing. Madam Tousaints (spelled wrong) wax museum is very good.
