6 days in Sedona: things to do
Hi,
My husband and I are traveling to Sedona for 6 days April 17-23. We will be staying at the Amara Resort and Spa. We would love some recommendations on must see/ do things in Sedona, we would also love some tips on best hiking and restaurants in the area. Thank you in advance for your help. |
Lots to keep you busy.
Chapel of the Holy Cross Pink Jeep Broken Arrow tour Red Rock Crossing (great place for sunsets) Montezuma Castle Montezuma Well Tuzigoot National Monument Jerome Verde Canyon Railroad Oak Creek Canyon Bell Rock Browse Tlaquepaque Day trip to Grand Canyon Wine tasting along Page Springs Road Hiking, around 200 hikes: West Fork, in Oak Creek Canyon Bell Rock / Courthouse Butte loop Boynton Canyon Fay Canyon Baldwin Trail Lots more, check this site: http://hikearizona.com/traildex.php?ID=42&RID=9 Restaurants: Cowboy Club (Silver Saddle Room for adult-only dining) Dahl & Di Luca or Cucina Rustica for Italian Schoolhouse Restaurant Shugrue's Hillside (try for a patio table depending on weather) Sedona Memories for lunch |
Shugrue's Hillside has been gone for awhile, replaced by The Hudson which has more of a slick city feel. The views are still wonderful but we weren't thrilled by the food.
For a nice casual lunch, check out Indian Gardens about 8 miles north of Sedona on Hwy 89A. For a fantastic wine bar (they have beer and food too), don't miss Vino di Sedona on the west side of town. I visited all of the wineries in the area and my favorite was Alcantara between Cottonwood and Camp Verde. |
I love the West Fork hike - it's beautiful and very easy. Get there early, though, as parking is a bear. Agree - Cornville/Paige Springs for wine tasting.
A day trip to Jerome is nice - as well as a drive up Oak Creek Canyon. |
Lunch at Enchantment; there is a nice hike there too that is open to public: Boynton Canyon Trail and Boyton Vortex Trail.
