59 national parks bucket list

My husband announced he would like to go to all 59 Natipnal Parks. We have been to 22 so far. I need recommendation for a book about the National Parks for Fathers Day gift. Your favorite and why? Not looking for a coffee table book

We are in our early 50's and prefer some hiking and truly getting a feel for a park versus just driving thru it.

I was married to a "park planner" for the Park Service who, needless to say, had seen a few. His favorite was Big Bend NP in SW Texas. He likes lonely desert landscapes so I suspect it's an excellent place to hike and not be in a crowd.

Big Bend is one of my favorite places! Looking forward to seeing all of the parks.

Google this: "best hikes in all 59 national parks" and you'll get lots of ideas.

Note - OP is looking for a book for a gift, not "what's your favorite park?"

How about this one: https://www.amazon.com/Your-Guide-Na.../dp/1621280675

Note - silly me. I somehow thought there was a an invitation to share in the final sentence. See me slink away.

I haven't read a guide to all the parks, but Fodor's guide to the western National Parks is good. Hopefully their guide to all the parks would be as well.

Generally, I like Lonely Planet's guides for their excellent mix of natural history, culture, plus lodging and food recommendations. You might want to see if you can find one in a bookstore.
