50th Birthday celebration at Disney
We are on holidays in US in November/December this year, me, my husband, 16 year old daughter and 13 year old son. While we are staying at Anaheim, my husband will have his 50th birthday. We will be at Disneyland that day, but would like to go somewhere great for dinner that night to celebrate. Doesn't have to be expensive, just great food and nice surroundings. In fact a couple of options would be great, as I am not sure that we will be taking any really dressy clothes on this trip. We are staying across the road from Disney at Ramada Maingate, so somewhere we don't have to drive to. Thanks!!

Surprise your husband with a birthday dinner at Medieval Times!

Oh, I see you want a place you can walk to.
Well, Mimi's Café is a chain, but the food is opulent, and delicious, and it seems to offer every possible food one could want. I go there with my mom, and although we have different tastes, we both enjoy the food. http://www.mimiscafe.com/ Another close and tasty choice, but also a chain, is Roy's Hawaiian Fusion. http://www.roysrestaurant.com/ |
I would go to the Napa Rose at Grand Californian..awesome food.
Don't go to Mimi's Cafe..maybe for breakfast which is great but not for his 50th! Roy's is another great alternative..and they give you a great free dessert of the chocolate lava cake. http://disneyland.disney.go.com/disn...ingPage&bhcp=1 |
Actually I think the dinner at Medieval Times would be a fun way to celebrate a 50th birthday. I don't know how much you're willing to spend, but there are some companies that will do transport from your hotel (since you don't want to drive) to the restaurant. I know www.viator.com has an inclusive package for tickets and transportation.

It's out of this world expensive..$55.95 per adult and $37.95 per child..food is awful too.

I too would recommend Napa Rose. If you want something special with excellent food, that is your best bet. It's not cheap but you'll have a wonderful memory of a great birthday dinner. Enjoy!

Another vote for Napa Rose! We celebrated an anniversary here after a full day in Disneyland. The food is excellent and the service very professional. Have fun! ***kim*** ((#))

Napa Rose for sure if it fits in your budget.
(If my SO took me to Medieval Times for a milestone birthday, it would be the last one we celebrated together.) |
I always enjoy Roy's restaurants. I haven't been to this one in Anaheim but I know their quality is very high.
They bring a birthday dessert and a photocard and an embossed memory card for the birthday person. No singing though thank goodness. |
I was going to say the same thing about Mimi's Cafe not being a special occasion restaurant, but didn't have a better suggestion. However, they do have good breakfasts and you can get a free breakfast if you sign up for their e-mail club: http://www.mimiscafe.com/EClub.aspx

Sorry, should have mentioned also that we live in Australia, so it really will be a special 50th celebration - being in US and at Disneyland! I had a look on the net and the Napa Rose does look fabulous..is it really really expensive, or just expensive??!! And how dressed up do we need to be? Thanks

From what I remember - starters run in the $15-$20 range and mains from $30-ish to $40.
They do have some second courses that could serve as a main entree. |
