50th anniversary itinerary suggestions

I am planning a 50th wedding anniversary trip for my parents. My father hails from Buffalo and when first married, my parents went to Niagara Falls and haven't been back since. In fact, they haven't been back to the East Coast in 50 years. I am looking for suggestions for the BEST hotel to stay at at Niagara Falls, the BEST restaurants there and then suggestions on what to do for the next fews days, i.e., should we head to Montreal, or stay in New York, and then the BEST places to stay and eat in those locations, respectively. The trip is planned for first week in Oct and parents are 70 years old and in relatively good health, but not up to anything requiring lots of activity/stamina.
Would appreciate suggestions for a most excellent and memorable 50th anniversary trip for a very deserving couple! Thanks for your help : )

Maybe do a search on Niagara on the Canada board, and maybe post there too. Maybe you'll get a better response. Have fun, and congratulations on their 50th, how wonderful! My [arents had theirs 2 years ago and went sent them on a cruise, I think a trip is so much better than an expensive party!

I would suggest posting with a different title, something pertaining directly to Niagara Falls. I'm sure you'll get some good responses then!

Thanks for your advice and congratulations. I will post something re: Niagara. I had planned to send my parents on a cruise, but since my father hasn't been back to his hometown for so long, they decided they wanted to take a trip to Niagara Falls. Appreciate your help.
