5 year wedding anniversary trip
Any suggestions on a long weekend (up to 5 nights) trip to celebrate our 5th anniversary?
We've been to: Kauai, Hawaii (and LOVED it) Riviera Maya, Mexico Puerto Vallarta, Mexico Las Vegas New Orleans Montego Bay, Jamaica Phoenix Sedona Grand Canyon Myrtle Beach, SC Some ideas we had were: New York city New Mexico (cities?) San Francisco San Diego We like to relax, sit by the pool & learn a little bit about the history of the area... also hiking/biking are always a good time. |
San Francisco would be great, as would northern New Mexico.

How about Charleston or Savannah?
|
SF and the Napa/Sonoma area. Or Lake Tahoe.
|
My vote = San Fran area. Napa/Sonoma valleys, Muir Woods for hikes among the redwoods, Point Reyes for relaxation on beaches, etc
|
My husband and I just returned from San Diego celebrating our 10th anniversary. The weather was chilly (low 60's with a constant breeze) but the scenery was gorgeous. We did ALOT while we were there and actually had to come home for some rest. 2 things well worth the money are the Zoo and the Wild Animal Park. There were more things to see and do in the area than we had time for (we were there for 6 days).

If you have not been to SF, it takes the cake from your list.
Congrats! |
Another vote for SF and wine country.
|
We did the SF/Napa drive before we had kids and it was the most romantic trip ever. I highly recommend it. Happy Anniversary!
|
Thanks All!!!
I'll start researching/planning San Fran. Does anyone have a recommendation on a hotel in that area? |
We stayed at an adorable B&B called the Petite Auberge. You can see pics of the hotel at http://www.jdvhospitality.com/hotels/hotel/11

thanks syd1!

A perfect amount of time for Key West.
|
We love San Francisco and the wine country north of there. The Doubletree in Rohnert Park was very nice.
We also love Charleston. Stay at the Seaside Inn on Isle of Palms. It's right on the beach. What about Paris???? We stayed at the Hotel du Champs du Mars in the Eiffel Tower area. Wonderful! Romantic! |
San Pancho Mexico is the most wonderful place! If you want to sit by a pool or the sea -- go where we just left - Casa Obelisco. Its a 4 room B&B on the beach with incredible views, incredible restaurants -- wonderful scenic town. I'm going back-- I can't recommend it enough for honeymooners, anniversaries, any celebration will do. Its adult only .

My vote would be San Fran, with a possible daytrip to Napa Valley, or San Diego. I also agree with the suggestion of Muir Woods, as its a great place for hiking.
Congrats on your anniversary! We too just celebrated our 5 year wedding anniversary, in May, although we spent it in Europe. Good luck! Tracy |
