5 Women turning 50

Any thoughts, idea's, all but 1 is living in chicago area. Just starting to plan, all inclusive or not? Hot weather, anytime after April. Thinking Mexico in November, are hurricanes still a threat?

It's a bit further to fly from Chicago but hurricanes are an extremely rare occurangce on the WEST coast of Mexico... Mazatlan, Puerto Vallarta, Ixtapa/Zijuat, Acapulco, etc. November is normally very nice weather in PV, for example.

It's possible, but don't "usually" see hurricanes in the Carribean/Mexican east coast as late as November.

Enjoy your trip!

I think November's getting pretty safe.
All inclusives can be nice if you just want to veg and not tour around, aren't demanding of high end food, but enjoy buffets. However, if you're thinking the Mayan Riviera, there is so much in this area to see and so many good restaurants that I wouldn't do ai's.
Also, those all-inclusives can be huge!! And lotsa little kids running around.
There's a brand new resort by Fairmont that will be opening in April that looks gorgeous -- the Mayakoba. Their opening rates aren't too terrible, especially w/ a AAA discount, I reserved a room there later this summer for about $230 per night. I'd bet prices will go way up once it is more established.

Try Lane's Guest Ranch in Estes Park colorado, it is very upscale, very few kids. They just about carry you to your horse, great hikes, all sorts of classes, and the best part is the fabulous food, and you have your table for the total breakfast/dinner, no set times to eat. NOT family style.
Own cabin and all inclusive, even drinks. No need for a car either.
A group of 4 of us went for our 50th and would go back in a minute! Spring and summer season, fills up fast!
