5 day trip to San Francisco

Hi All,

I would like to get inputs on 5 days (to and fro) trip Seattle to San Francisco. I am not very particular about coastal drive. I have done enough coastal drive to on 101 to oregon.

My focus is in and around San Francisco...I would like to visit sea world in San diego if possible.

I would like to any suggestions for halting and enjoying on the way.

thanks in advance
Jaan

What are your interests? Museums, plays, sightseeing?

As far as visiting Sea World in San Diego, it's not a day trip from San Francisco; it's in southern California.

It seems you know that Sea World is in San Diego. The trip from SF to San Digo is more than 500 miles. This is likely a more than 9 hour trip with no stops. Were you planning to fit that in your 5 days? At a minimum that would be a 3 day trip. One for driving down, one for visiting Sea World and one for driving back. Maybe you were planning to fly from SF to SD for the day to visit Sea World. We probably need more information about that leg of the trip.

If I am reading your post correctly you wish for ideas on where to visit on the drive to and from Seattle and what to do in SF?
Are you alos looking for accomodations?

We would need to know how many hours you wish to drive each day in order to determine where you might stop for the night. Also need a nightly accomodations budget.

Why are you starting in Seattle instead of Portland? If you have seen the Oregon coast, why not try for Crater Lake or Lassen on the way to SF?
Would you rather see coastal California or Yosemite?

If you take I-5, that's 13.5 hour trip each way if you don't stop for gas, restroom, meal, or rest. That's 1 full day and then some just driving on the road. If you just want to do the tourisy stuff in San Francisco, I guess you can do real quick sightseeing.

What do you want to do? Outdoor stuff or walk around the city?
