4th of july getaway from NYC with 2 yr old

Hi,

Looking for a last minute getaway from NYC. We like places like the Sagamore (we went there for Memorial Day weekend)...We need to have a suite, since we would put our son in a crib in the living room...

Just saw the site for the Mountain Top Inn in Vermont...
We've been to Mohonk, but I didn't care for it...

Any other ideas?

Thanks

Equinox sounds nice

I want to go to Sesame Place but it will probably be very crowded this weekend.

Newport.. where to stay?

Sartoga Springs NY?

Hyde Park, Rhinebeck, Millbrook NY?

Litchfield County CT?

Five College Area MA? (North Hampton, Amhest, Holyoke)

Some of these places should have accomodations still available...

how about spending the forth in Bristol, RI? Someone else has posted about its Forth of July celebration. I guess it is the longest contiguous running 4th of july celebration in the country. It looks like a cute new england town and it is right on the beach. Also looks like there are some kid activities in the area, children's musuem, topiary garden, petting farm, etc. Looks nice to me!

Yea, that was my post about Bristol, R.I. Check out Yankee Magazine's website for that and other N.E. getaways. Here's one you might not have checked out yet: Smuggler's Notch in VT has a great family resort with everything, tennis, golf, swimming, children's programs, hiking, restaurants etc.
I agree that Sesame Place is nice but ALWAYS crowded and a little pricey for what you get. If your child is small then it may be too much for him/her to handle and too stressful for you. If you want to relax just go somewhere that you all can relax poolside together, you can buy the kid a Big Bird toy anywhere, but time spent together in a non-stress atmosphere is priceless.
