4th of July

Hi!
Iīll be in Washington for the 4th of July!
Itīs the first time to visit DC.
Any recommendations what to do on that special day?
Thanks annaphil

anna:

I'd highly suggest looking into military bands. Unfortunately I didn't know where they were and supposedly they play around the touristy areas of D.C. all day long.

This is meant, somewhat, in jest:

1) Park yourself on a blanket on the mall at 8am to ensure you can see the fireworks 13 hours later.

2) Avoid DC at all costs.

Seriously, look at this website for info on what's going on that day:

Have fun!

July 4th, the National Mall will be packed as well as the museums, but I think a nice way to celebrate Independence Day would be to visit the WWII Memorial - it's very impressive- walk up past the Vietnam Memorial - very sobering - keep walking up Constitution Ave. and marvel at all the people you see from every country in the world, freely enjoying themselves and finally visiting the National Archives to view the actual document which or freedoms possible.
