414?

I did some looking on hotels.com and this seemed to be a good choice in the theatre district for under $200/night. Any comments?

I haven't stayed there but the reviews on tripadvisor.com were overall acceptable (although one said the sheets were dirty) seems like a basic hotel that has a good location if you are going to the Theater. It's on 46th St., close to 9th Ave for some good restaurants. Depending on when you are going and how many beds you need in the room, you might want to give Priceline a try - you can probably get a nicer hotel for the same money (or less). How far under $200 was the rate? Just from what I read, I don't think I'd pay more than $150 for it.

This place really looks awful from the outside with fire escapes on the front of the building. But it gets decent reviews and the "candid travelers photos" don't look bad although the rooms appear just big enough for a bed. I wouldn't like the idea of a fire escape outside my window, but you may not care. Just look at the photos here

The location is very good.

The rate was $186, comparable to The Washington Jefferson and The Roger Smith. Trip Advisor rated it #72 of 346 properties, which sounds pretty good to me.

Sue, when are you going? I think you can get a nicer hotel, just as well located, with Priceline, providing what time frame you are traveling.
