any suggestions regarding restaurants - freebies - coupons? What is the Signature Lounge?
|
Actually, I'd suggest heading over to the Trump Tower across the river and having cocktails at "16" restaurant/lounge. While pricey, the view is spectacular! I haven't seen any coupons or freebies for AARP folks in the downtown area - mostly in the suburbs. For cajun food, go to Heaven on Seven; for Italian/pizza, head up to Carmines or Rosebud on Rush; for pizza, I'd suggest the tourist mecca on Due's or Uno. If you want something a bit more unique, take a cab to the Chicago Pizza and Oven Grinder. Its in Lincoln Park across the street from the supposed site of the St Valentine's Day massacre. Walk out on Navy Pier for site, ferris wheel, a few restaurants (Riva and Bubba Gumps are big there). Quieter Italian - Trattoria 10 or Spiaggia. Steaks: Gibson, Houstons or Ditka's.

Thanks so much for the info. I did neglect to say Chicago in my inquiry.

I guess Wacker drive gave it away for me!

I was recently in Chicago (at the Hyatt Regency-BTW) I very much enjoyed wine tasting at Bin 36--walkable from the hotel--http://www.bin36.com/restaurant.html Then dinner at topolobampo http://www.rickbayless.com/restauran...ll.html--which was walkable from Bine 36.
Had dinner at North Pond the other night I was there--lovely location, great view of the city and fabulous food. http://www.northpondrestaurant.com/ http://www.rickbayless.com/restaurants/grill.html |
