4 Sisters trip to Orlando......Hotel help please!

In January my 3 FUN sisters & I (ages: mid 30's - 40's) need a hotel for 2 nights in the Orlando area. We are looking for a hotel w/ a fabulous pool area and possibly located near nightlife. We are NOT going to any amusement parks. We will be taking a 3 night cruise to the Bahamas out of Port Canaveral a few days later.

Suggestions, please!

Look at the Ritz Carlton or adjacent JW Marriott for your hotel. It's a very nice property and has a great spa. For dinner, check out restauants in the nearby Sand Lake/Dr. Phillips area. Suggestions would be Moonfish, Roys, Seasons 52.

Please note that in January it can be very cool...not pool weather. Have you though maybe somewhere on the coast? We live Cocoa Beach. There is a nice Doubletree on the beach and the Inn at Cocoa Beach. Coconuts is a fun place to eat and drink, and if weather permits a lot is happening there outside on their dec.

Thank you both for the tips/advice. I had no idea that Florida would not be "pool friendly" in January.

Today is to get to 82 degrees. We have had New Year's Eve's with frost. The weather is very mixed up here right now in Central Florida! We had the heat on two days ago. It may or may not be pool weather for you!

If you're not planning on going to any of the amusement parks, I firmly agree that you should head right for the coast. I second Cocoa Beach!

I just happened upon this discussion and am glad to see it. We are flying down on the 4th and staying at Cocoa Beach at the Holiday Inn Oceanfront for the entire time. We plan one day at Disney and other things. My question is about the hotel, I have read bad and good reviews?? Any input here??
Thanks so much, we could still change hotels after the first night.

I have stayed @ that Holiday Inn in Cocoa, but it was a couple years back. Nothing fabulous, a little run down at the time, but it was 'ON' the beach, although our rooms faced the parking lot. Check out Tripadvisor for the latest feedback.

As far as the Adventureseeker goes, I'd also recommend the JW Marriott however, it is VERY upscale. Another great alternative with awesome pools would be the Orlando Marriott World Center which should you experience a cold spell, also has an indoor pool. It is very close to Pleasure Island and Downtown Disney for nightlife. It really is a beautiful property. If I had to choose between Cocoa & Orlando for a "hotel with a great pool and close to nightlife", I'd definitely choose Orlando over Cocoa.

Here's a link with some good nightlife info. I thought that the Adventurer's Club was a lot of fun and I really enjoyed Raglan Road: http://www.buildabettermousetrip.com...nightlife.html

Once again....thank you all for your input. We will be staying in Orlando since one of the sisters flies into Orlando just before we head to Port.

Let's hope for lots and lots of sun...we crave pool time!
