4 hour layover at LaGuardia

My 1st trip to NYC was last summer & I LOVED it so much I wasn't too upset to find myself with a 4 hour layover in the city on my way to Boston this spring. The day will be a Thursday, I arrive at LaGuardia at 1pm & will have to be back for a flight that departs at 5pm. Is it worth it to leave the airport? Is that too busy of a time to try & get back in time for my flight? If memory serves, there is no shopping at LaGuardia, correct?

You do not have enough time to leave the airport. With how much time it takes to get off a plane and out of the airport then time to get back through security, you will not have much time, let alone travel time to anywhere.

You might have time to run for lunch in Astoria, which is about 10 minutes away by cab. (Assuming of course you don't need to wait for a bag and recheck it.)

The Kebab Cafe in Astoria is famous among NY foodies for some of the best Middle Eastern food in town.

If you get back to the airport between 3 and 3:30 you should be good. One suggestion though, if you do decide to head out, plan for at least a 30 minute ride to airport. Should be less, but with the Grand Central Parkway you can't make that assumption.

I don't think you really have enough time to leave the airport.

The LGA - BOS is basically a shuttle route with hourly flights by several carriers. It used to be the case that if you arrived at the airport early you could hop on the next available flight. That works great if you only have carry-on bags.

If you don't have checked bags, I'd just try to shorten the layover and get to Boston faster rather than hang out at LGA.

I wouldn;t leave the airport.

You don;t have 4 hours - since they will want you back to check in for your next flight between 3 and 3:30 and it will take perhaps 30 minutes from even someplace in Queens. So - even f your planes arrives on time (check the on time percentage) you will have a total of 2 hours - including getting somewhere.

I would just relax with a book.

Even if you go somewhere, there are not always a lot of cabs in the boroughs for the return trip.
