4 days in Miami

Hello - I'm overwhelmed! My husband and I have a 4 day trip to Miami in February (3-7). We'd like to be on a beach for at least part of the time. We don't know whether to stay in Miami Beach for part of the time, try to see part of the keys, stay in a different beach area, or maybe we don't have enough time to do anything other than stay in Miami Beach. We'd also like a hotel with a nice pool. No other requirements. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Are you flying into MIA or another airport?

Check out the Surfcomber and Royal Palm South Beach... both are on the beach and great pools... 4 days does allow for a day trip down the keys for lunch in Islamorada, but Key West is still not 100% hotel ready...

Hi Kurl! For an elegant relaxing pool scene, the Delano or the Raleigh. For an iconic pool, the fountainbleu. For a party scene pool, try the cleavander.
As far as the keys, is it just to sight see? Are you hoping to get some snorkling in or fishing? If youre going for the beaches i woukd stay put. If not, How far would you want to go? For a day trip, you could probably get as far as Isla morada, or Key largo. Keep in mind though that this area was hit by hurricane Irma, and while many places are open, some still are not and you will probably still see lots of remnants from the storm. If you want to go all the way to key West, I would suggest an overnight trip. KEY West didn't get the brunt of the storm and from what I hear are up and running. (I haven't been down myself)
Either way they would really appreciate your visit.
Another thought if you're so inclined is to do an overnight trip to Naples to experience both coasts.
Let me know if you have any other questions

Stayed in South Beach when visiting this city a few years ago, and found it a good base point -- plenty to do in the area, decent area of town, and well served by public transit.

Here are the trip reports from then, attractions and food:

Take a look at the Loews South Beach.

Thank you all! I think we will stay in south beach and also do some sightseeing in Miami.
