4-Day Travel Plan at Disney

Hello,
We're taking our 4 and 9 year old daughters to Disney later this week, on the spur of the moment, and haven't done much investigating. I'm thinking 2 days at the Magic Kingdom (they are huge disney princess fans), one day at MGM and maybe one at Universal. I don't know if they would get as much out of Epcot at this age and I've heard that the Animal Kingdom is not too much more elaborate than a really nice zoo. Any suggestions on what we should do? Thanks!

I would skip Universal and definately go to Animal Kingdom. I totally disagree with the zoo comment. There are rides, a great Lion King show and along with other good shows. Plus, you'll get a better deal buying a 4 day pass than individual passes plus one for Universal (and you can park hop between parks and do a half day at Epcot if you want.)

Head over to www.disboards.com for really good info on all things Disney. As for my 2 cents, I think you should not miss the Animal Kingdom. The Kilamanjaro safari is worth it alone...and you can do the park in half a day, head back to the hotel for a break, nap, swim, whatever and still go back to Magic Kingdom in the evening.

I agree, with going to Animal Kingdom. It's a great park with wonderful shows and good attractions. Save both Universal parks for another trip when you can stay on site at Universal and get the express privilege.

Animal Kingdom is much more than a zoo. I would think the girls might think this the highlight after maybe Cindy's breakfast or some other princess type thing.

It is incredibly hot right now so invest in those little water fans that mist you while sending a cooling breeze. Keep them filled with ice. Also pack some wash clothes in ice to cool hot necks. Hats also. Be a Floridian and adapt to the heat! LMF

Just to add to LilMsFoodie's suggestions... I have a friend who visited WDW this August and those little water fans cost $17 each at the Park, I believe! So... maybe you can find a cheaper one at a Wal-Mart or drug store.

I agree with everyone else- don't miss Animal Kingdom- I think that it is their best park! Although, you might want to consider doing Universal over MGM. MGM is a small park with not that much to do.

Thanks to all for your replies. Based on your advice, we went ahead and purchased a 4-day park hopper pass (from the suggest disboard website!) and we will try all disney has to offer! We're saving offsite for another year. Thanks again!
