4 AM transport to airport !!

I need to get from Windsor Heights to Orlando International by 4AM!!
Would I be right in assuming there are no shuttles at that time. How reliable are the taxis and how much??
Will be returning a few days later so should I book a round trip from here(Australia} or would it be easy to organise when I get there.

westoz,
Where is Windsor Heights? I have lived in Central Florida 22 years and have never heard of it.

I would like to help you because I have taken early taxis to the Orlando airport but I have never heard of Windsor Heights either.
Where is it?

If you will be staying in a hotel in the Orlando area, ask them -- surely they get this question frequently. If Windsor Heights is not the the Orlando metro area, perhaps you'd want to move to an airport hotel for the night before you fly out.

Are you sure you need to get there at 4AM? I would call the airline and ask what time their check in desk opens - I'd hate to show up an hour before they even opened.

Oops I mean Windsor Hills in Orlando. Its a resort with self contained privately owned units.
I am beginning to think that a night at the airport hotel is the answer.Plane leaves at 7 and as am flying to Cancun I have to check in 3 hours before

I just want to reiterate Brian's advice to call ahead and make sure that the 3-hour requirement applies to such nan early flight.

Orlando_Vic Feb 13th, 2009 04:09 AM

Ahhh!

In that case, you might want to spend a night in a hotel/motel as kayd suggested and take their shuttle over to the airport in the morning. If you have a car, you could park it there using one of these packages <http://www.parksleepfly.com/>.

Brian and Anonymous make good points about checking that the 3-hour check-in requirement is correct. If you are returning to Oz, two hours should be sufficient time to check-in for an international flight, or the first leg of an international itinerary.

Nevertheless, I hope you have a wonderful time in Central Florida.

at an unearthly hour like 4 a.m., i make prior reservations with my local cab co.
it is quite a bit more than a shuttle but then i don't have the worry of getting to the airport on time.

also wanted to add.....your cab company may be able to give you an estimate.

Australians can rent a car from National at the Disney resort, and return it to the airport....for about $35 per day including all taxes and insurances.
You could pick up the car the previous morning if you wish, and have it for 18-20 hours to get out and see the Florida coast or Kennedy Center or something of interest. Seems like a lot better value than a taxi, and I imagine Windsor Hills has free parking.
