30th Birthday in December-Where to go?

I'm looking for any suggestions on a fun place to go for 5-6 young women in December for 30th birthday getaway. Was looking into Vegas or Disney World but heard that busiest time is between X-Mas and New Year's (my birthday)
Is this true? Any other suggestions? Prefer a warm place with good nightlife, water nearby, not too expensive (flying from Michigan and California)

Hi Tanya! With the combination you have mentioned I would suggest that you go to Disneyworld in Orlando. We spent a week there over the Christmas New Years period and had a balst. The Christmas decorations and festive atmosphere were brilliant. Everyone will complain about crowds, but we didn't mind them at all. One trick we learnt was to walk around the parks during the day and see the stuff that you don't need to line up for and then go on the rides after about 6pm. During the day we were waiting for anything up to 2 hours to get on rides. After 6 we virtually got straight on. New Years Eve at MGM Grand was an absolute blast. Great concert and amazing fireworks. You can go to the Disney water park or the park created just for adults. I can't remember its name? The atmosphere over Christmas and especially on New Years Eve were great, everyone was having a great time dancing in the streets of Disney. I couldn't think of a better way to celebrate my birthday. Vegas is good but everything is much the same. Flashy lights and gambling. Not bad for a night or two but it does get to be much the same. There are so many places to have a good time in Orlando and not just Disneyworld. Great outlet shopping is everywhere and accommodation choices to suit every budget. The name of the Disney park for adults is Pleasure Island, it just popped into my head! Hope this info helps!!

Is this a party-time group? If so you may want to try Key West or New Orleans.

Another interesting option for good food, drink, and warmth is San Antonio.

Have a great 30th. I spent mine at a Greek restaurant.

CJ
How about Arizona? It will definitely be warmer than Michigan and also, possibly California. We do have lots of lakes and plenty of terrific restaurants and nightlife.
