3 Weeks Holiday summer 2025

Hello all, me and my girlfriend are planning a trip for 3-4 weeks next summer across the east/south of USA, We will be flying to new york and staying for 3 nights, then hopefully going down to new orleans for a few days also. Any suggestions on other places to visit around new orleans? Possibly head over to texas or something, just looking for suggestions. We plan on ending the trip in florida

How will you get from New Orleans to "somewhere" in Texas? And then to "somewhere" in Florida? These destinations are far apart, and "Texas" would really be a huge detour for just a few days.

How well do you tolerate heat and humidity?

Where will you be flying into NYC from? Why do you want to spend so little time in NY? Do you realize that flying out of NYC will take several hours in addition to flight time, eating up one day? Do you like 90 degree days (with similar humidity) for all of your destinations. I agree that "Texas" is not a valid destination, nor is "Florida."

Stop and think. Do you want a fun vacation? Spend the whole time in New York City. If you want beach time, spend one day at Coney Island.

We will be just in new york city for about 3/4 days, fly down south then spend about 10 days between texas {dallas}, new orleans then down to florida for another 10 days.
Just looking for other ideas on what to do while down south

That really depends on your interests - historic sights, museums, beaches, nature, sports activities, music performances. Hard to provide advice without knowing what you are interested in.

Near New Orleans is Lafayette, LA which has Zydeco and Cajun music venues. You can also eat tasty Cajun food such as red beans and rice, Jambalaya, and Creole Gumbo at restaurants such as Dwight's. The downtown is lively and there are the famous Festival International de Louisiane and Festivals Acadiens et Créoles. In Vermilionville get a taste of life for the 18th-century Acadian settlers in this 23-acre village with meticulously recreated period homes, costumed staff demonstrating arts and crafts and a restaurant serving Cajun and Creole food. Walk on the boardwalk in the Cypress Island Swamp and seealligators and many types of birds beneath live oak and cypress trees dripping with Spanish moss.

Welcome, louisdaley7958! Please give us more information about what you and your girlfriend love to do. AJPeabody asks a valid question... you could spend a month in New York City! Travel from NYC to New Orleans to Miami = a day's air travel at minimum for each city. Also do fly out from your last city so you don't have to backtrack to NY.

All that being said, the three cities will provide food, nightlife, and culture for a lifetime.

Edited to add: More of your posts arrived after I posted. Please Google the distances between these cities.
