3 Sisters with Questions about Charleston, SC
We have finally agreed upon and arranged a sister's weekend in Charleston, SC for Feb 29-Mar 3rd. We are booked into the Doubletree Guest Suite. Since the Food and Wine festival is going on that weekend we booked tickets for the Bubbles & Sweets Sat night and the BBQ & Blues Sunday afternoon. These are the first questions (of I am sure many questions) that we have:
-our respective flights don't come in until 10-10:15pm Friday night. Any place to get a light bite to eat that late? I have no idea how early or late the city stays open. -since we are going to the Bubbles & Sweets on Sat we are interested in either a late lunch or very early dinner. We were thinking Magnolia, Pennisula Grill or Charleston Grill? Any other suggestions would be great. -A brunch location for Sunday morning. -Anything you think we shouldn't miss for sight seeing. TIA. |
Sounds like a great trip, Ladies. I think you will be pleased with your hotel selection, the Doubletree is very conveniently located.
The three restaurants you mention are all top drawer. My suggestion is to do brunch at one of them as well. A nice brunch is also available at Hominy Grill. Take a Gullah tour. Shop King ST (be sure and go to Bob Ellis shoes) If you are interested in gardens, check out a Charleston Garden tour. Have a wonderful time. |
Thanks for the reply. We can't wait to go.

We enjoyed breakfast at Poogan's Porch.

One other suggestion is to head to Marketplace Pavillion rooftop for cocktails one evening. Lovely view.

I live in Charleston and my suggestion for Saturday night would be Cypress(try the Brie) or Pennisula Grill.
My choice for brunch on Sunday is High Cotton or Grill 225. Have a wonderful trip. |
I had one of the most magnificent meals at Peninsula Grill this fall when in Charleston with my girlfriend on a get a way - it was amazing. Here is my trip report, you can scroll down to the restauranst - we ate at PG, FIG, SNOB and Magnolia -
