3 questions re Healdsburg area

My SO and I are planning on going wine tasting on Memorial Day wkend in Northern Sonoma Cty. I have been to Sonoma (town itself) and the Napa Valley, but I've never explored the area around Healdsburg. We wanted to spend about $150 on a B&B or inn (we like the cheapest room:), but learned most of the places in that area are $200 and up. We did find a few places, but need some opinions/information.

1) Has anyone stayed at the Country Meadow Inn in Windsor?
2) There were a few others of interest: Midnight Sun Inn and George Alexander House. Any information on these?
3) Finally, we were looking at Santa Nella Inn in Guerneville but it seemed sort of out of the way to me (in that it seemed far from Healdsburg and only close to a few wineries). It is so hard to tell these things just from looking at a map - can anyone give me a firsthand perspective on this?

Thanks in advance!

My husband and I have stayed at the Hayden Street Inn in Healdsburg several years in a row. It is a B and B that has fantastic breakfast and close to wine tasting. They have a wine and cheese social every night also. I believe they have a website http://www.haydon.com/. You will not be disappointed.

Please check out www.wineroad.com-terrific website for the Russian River/Healdsburg area. You will love it!

Haydon was booked -that did look great though! Isn't that wine road website wonderful?

We ended up booking at the Hope-Merrill Inn in Geyserville. If anyone has any insights on this place, let me know.
Thanks.

Megan, I've never stayed at any of these places, so I hope you post a review of where you stay.

I highly recommend the new Reserve tasting room at Geyser Peak winery. It's practically just around the corner. Their reserve flights are very nice and they comp them if you buy any wine.

Megan-right down the road from the Hope Merrill House in Geyserville is a great restaurant: Santi. Check it out and it would probably be wise to reserve now.The recommendation for the wine road map is a good one. You will be in very close proximity to the Alexander Valley main wine road and an easy maybe 15 minute car ride to Healdsburg.

Geyserville is cool. DO not miss Meeker Winery! They used to have a tasting room in an old bank in town, I think they are in their new one. They have 2 gals- Cynthia is one- who work there who are a HOOT and gave us the very best suggestions for the area. And their reds are spectacular. Don't miss the Hoffmann House Deli by the Geyserville Inn. Dan is the chef there- he makes awesome sandwiches/dishes. We took a picnic lunch to the Lake Sonoma Winery...very nice. Don't miss the overlook at Lake Sonoma, either! Stunning.
