3 nights in Nashville
 

Celebrating a friends 50th birthday and looking for recommendations for hotels or bed and breakfasts located within walking distance to drink/food/music probably on Music Row. We will be there 3 nights in mid May.

Music Row is boring for tourists. Just a bunch of offices (many are in old houses, so it looks cute, but nothing to do). You probably are looking for Lower Broadway, which is where the honky-tonks are. They're a couple of miles apart.

I live here, so have no experience with specific hotels. The nicest one is the Hermitage, followed by Union Station, if your budget allows. Otherwise, I can't recommend one specifically, but the Hampton Inn and the Hilton south of Broadway have been recommended fairly frequently here.

Will you have a car? Nashville's best food is not in the tourist area right downtown, but there are tons of options with a 15-minute drive. Many of the attractions also need a car or shuttle - the Grand Ole Opry, the Bluebird, Belle Meade, the Hermitage.

Most likely we will not have a car we will use cabs and shuttles (no one wants to be designated driver). Thank you for the location correction and hotel names that is a huge help!

We stayed in the Hermitage and had a lovely time. We were able to walk to everything. We went to the Country Music Hall of Fame, the Ryman, Broadway and the honkey tonks. We had a wonderful meal at the restaurant in the Hermitage.

We stayed last fall at the Hampton just a block or two from Broadway. It was walking distance to all the honky tonks on Broadway and 2nd. It was nothing special but it was adequate and a perfect location if you don't have a designated driver.

We stayed at the new Omni in early January and absolutely loved it! The hotel is beautifully decorated, the staff was incredibly nice (and gave us an amazing upgrade!), and the location was perfect for exploring the Broadway area.
