3 nights in Big Sur area
 

The kids are 9 and 13. What hotel or cabin would be a good place to stay in this area? Looking to stay under $300 per night. Thanks.

We're planning a trip down there ourselves. It seems a lot of places are not kid friendly but here's one:

Ventana Inn and Post Ranch are the ones that spring to mind that aren't child-friendly - those are beyond the budget anyway (mine too). Esalen is probably not appropriate with kids either. The rest should be fine though.

The Big Sur Inn has accommodations, and whether staying there or not, has a great brunch.

actually, having lived in the area for 30 years and traveled all around Big Sur there are three obvious choice! (btw: best sushi at Treebones, best breakfast at Deetjen's)

for some reason my three choices didn't make my first post: Deetjen's, Treebones, Glen Oaks Motel.
