3 Days in Utah National Park. Please help

Hi All, we will be traveling from Las Vegas to Zion National Park in the beginning of December. We will have only 3 days. Considering that we are flying back by red eye on the 3rd day.
Is it enough time to see Zion and a Bryce? I understand, the weather will be a huge factor.
any suggestions where to stay? Any tours we need to take? We are not big on hacking. Thank you so much for your help!

Your' three days' -- does that mean 3 nights - or - 2 nights and actually 2 and a skosh days?

Yes, three days is enough. I would probably spend 2 at Zion as a 1/2 day at the Narrows and maybe Angel's Landing the next day with some littler hikes in between. Then start early at Bryce and do some of the most interesting hikes and drive around to the viewpoints with the shuttle bus.

Well,, they said they were not big on hiking, and there is no bigger hike at Zion than Angel's Landing....

There are plenty of small, easier hikes to do at Zion. Hiking up the Narrows, even as short a distance as ~0.5 miles / or 1km will take you away from the crowds. Twice that and you'll experience it even better.

We will stay 3 nights and will have full 2.5 days. We shall leave Utah at 6 p.m. in order to get to the airport on time.

Thank you so much! It is good to know. We can do small hikes for sure!

Google "Joe's Guide to Zion." There is a lot of good information. There is also a Joe's Guide to Bryce. I am going next week. We will use the guide as reference.

You will have to pay attention to the weather..Zion should be fine as the valley is a lower elevation, but Bryce is at ~8000 ft above sea level so expect winter conditions. If there is a snow storm then you'll be better to skip Bryce and spend your time at Zion.

Bryce Shuttles
There are two options. The Rainbow requires reservations
Park Shuttle - Bryce Canyon National Park (U.S. National Park Service) (nps.gov)

Thank you! How about Antelope?

mila0229 Sep 26th, 2021 11:21 PM

We hope it will be a little warmer in the afternoon in early December. Hope dies last!

Thank you!

Antelope Canyon?? That's too far away to do in that amount of time. Just focus on Zion. Try the Kolob Canyon section and the main canyon. click on my user name for Zion trip reports.
