3 days in Lake Travis area near Austin Texas

Please help with suggestions for a 3 day stay in Lake Travis area near Austin Texas. Can anyone suggest a nice place to stay to relax and enjoy the area? I found Lakeside resort and Horseshoe Bay Resort . Has anyone stayed at either place?
Thanks for your help.

Haven't stayed at either place but I believe you mean Lakeway Resort, not Lakeside. Lakeway is located on Lake Travis but to be honest, it's not my favorite area. Have no experience with the Resort except for having dinner there once. Horseshoe Bay is on Lake LBJ in the Marble Falls area, not Lake Travis.

Not too many hotels/resorts on Lake Travis...mostly residential, but you can find VRBO rentals or you can check out this place:

Make sure you ask about the lake levels since they've been very low.

Lake Travis is currently about 50' below full. That means that the shoreline can be a looooong way from the resort. In some places 50' water drop can mean a mile of shoreline recession.

I've been to Lakeway resort a few times in the past for business meetings, but personally have no interest in any on-lake activities there so can't make any reco about getaway.

A little farther out than Lake Travis, but check out Log Country Cove near Burnet. A beautiful resort with lots to do nearby.

I really have no recommendations, but this post makes me smile because we spent our honeymoon at Mountainview, a cabin site right on Lake Travis. Sadly, when we went to the area on our silver anniversary, we found that the place had been out of business for many years.

Not Lake Travis but very near there is Lake Austin Soa. It's fantadtic and lake Austin has water unlike lake travis.

The Lakeway spa and resort in Lakeway is very nice. I'd stay there if I had to be in the Lake Travis area. The lake is sadly low.

The lakeway resort is much closer to Austin than Horseshoe Bay. If you plan on spending time in Austin, definitely pick Lakeway.

The lake AustinSpa and resort is the nice$T of all.

Just wanted to let everyone know that we stayed at the Lakeway resort and loved it! It had great views of the lake and a marina to rent boats for an easy cruise (even for people who don't usually boat--like us!). Their Masterson’s Steakhouse was a highlight with delicious food and friendly service. My husband enjoyed golf nearby with hotel transportation back and forth. We all enjoyed the pool area where you could swim up to the bar and sit on a stool inside the pool with your drink! A side note for anyone in the area, we found an authentic Mexican restaurant called the Santa Catarina Mexican Restaurant that was truly authentic and delicious. Thank you everyone for your help!
