The Louisville Slugger Museum is great. You may want to eat at Claudia Sanders (wife of Col. Sanders) for all you can eat fried chicken.

If your son is a Simpson's town, you may want to show him that Shelbyville is right next door to Simpsonville.

I do love mushrooms and those sound great. Very interesting.

We visited the Slugger Museum on our trip two years ago and brought him a baseball bat with his name on it. Pretty cool.

There are so many great things to do in Kentucky, I'm must trying to narrow it down. He is a fun kid, not easily bored and likes almost everything. Also my only grandchild so we can really spoil him if we want to.

Still wondering if anyone had done the rafting on the Cumberland?

Tbanks for all your help so far, lots of good ideas!

How about rafting closer to Lexington and Harrodsburg on Elkhorn Creek?

kybourbon: Thanks, I was just looking at that website. Sounds like a good idea and much closer to our route. I'm going to call them. Have you tried it?

There is also a canoe trip at Mammoth Cave - has anyone tried that? I guess I'm thinking hot and humid - caves and water sound really nice . . .

If your grandson is a baseball fan I would suggest the Louisville Slugger Museum. Or take him on the Belle of Louisville (boat ride)
