I just thought of a great pizza place near downtown-Fellini's. I may have spelled that incorrectly but they have really good pizza.

The Cyclorama and the zoo are right next to each other, and are in the right part of town for access to the airport.

Another combination would be the King Center and the Carter Center, which are pretty near each other, and close to the expressway for the airport trip. The museum at the Carter Center can have some good exhibits. http://www.jimmycarterlibrary.org/

Another good place for your age children is the Carlos Museum at Emory. It has a pretty good Egyptian collection, and lots of other ancient civilization exhibits and artifacts. http://carlos.emory.edu/

In the Emory part of town is the Fernbank Natural History Museum, with some good dinosaur casts (I think the biggest dinosaur on display or something). http://www.fernbank.edu/museum/

If you've had the different cokes I'd skip the World of Coke.

We took our kids to the CNN tours. They were into Cartoon Network at the time so they took interest, but it was also educational--going into the studio and watching the actual CNN news being braodcast live and the weather reporting. The Coke museum didn't have much to see, but the kids had fun sampling the many sodas shooting out of fountains. There is also a tasting room of the different formulas of Cokes manufactured for different countries.

We also went to Stone Mountain. It was a drive out of the city and will probably be a full day excursion. It was an awesome sight, recommended if you have the time.

For BBQ, we absolutely loved Fat Matt's Rib Shack in the Buckhead and can't wait to go back.

We are back and had a great time! Our hotel was in the downtown area. We spent Thursday afternoon at the Olympic Centenial Park (looking for a commemorative brick that a friend had purchased for our son), went on the CNN tour and went to the top of the Westin hotel to see the sights. On Friday, we had aquarium tickets (purchased in advance thanks to advice from here). Our tickets were for noon. We got there about 12:30 to avoid the intial noon line and got right in. However, the place was packed! I should have gone for the first tickets in the morning. Even with the crowds, we saw everything and had a great time. I can definitely see coming back to this aquarium. That night, we went to the Braves game. We didn't have a lot of time on Saturday before our flight. We went to the Atlanta Cyclorama (very interesting) and then to the Varsity for lunch. I've addicted my daughter to fried peach pie.
We walked, took cabs or the MARTA everywhere we went. It was a great trip - I can definitely see coming back as there were many things we missed!

We have this board to get differing opinions. I live in ATL and disagree with choosing Gladys Knight's over OK Cafe. I much prefer OK, not even close. I took my entire visiting family to Gladys' place and we were all disappointed.
The aquarium is very good and Stone Mountain was a favorite of my young nieces and nephews.
