Belle, you are correct. Bethany Hamilton, the surfer, is from Hawaii. Kauai I think. That is where she lost her arm.

Sorry, I've been gone- and yes, you are right- it was Hawaii. I saw the story on 60 Minutes or 20/20 and it was mixed with a story from Florida.

One of my students has her picture on the wall in her dorm room. She is really an inspiration.
