$2K & 2 weeks: Where to go???
 

Daughter and I want to go somehwere this summer. We hate cigarette smoke, don't drink, love mountains and water, are not extrememly fit, and live in Texas. Any ideas for destinations in the U.S.? Outside the U.S.?

Colorado.

Eureka Springs, Arkansas.

Grand Lake, Colorado - cute little mountain town set on a small lake, on the back side of Rocky Mountain National Park. You may be able to find a vacation rental there.

Breckenridge, CO - lots to do and see in Breckenridge and surrounding towns in Summit County.

I'm not sure how much airfare would cost but my idea is Canada. The dollar goes a little further there than here at home. Whatcha think about Vancouver Victoria and Whistler? I did a budget solo trip there and fell in love with British Columbia.

Calgary, Banff and Jasper are another suggestion.....gorgeous!

I checked Chateau Lake Louise because it's in the mountains and on the water, but may be too pricey. Check yourself at www.fairmont.com. Absolutely spectacular. I've never been to Switzerland, but felt hint of it there. With the exchange rate it felt like everything was on sale the last time I was in Canada!
